The Langtang Valley Trek is a beautiful and accessible trekking adventure in the Langtang National Park, located just north of Kathmandu. Often referred to as the “Valley of Glaciers,” Langtang offers breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung (7,227m), rich Tamang and Tibetan-influenced culture, and serene alpine landscapes.

This moderate trek takes you through charming villages, rhododendron and bamboo forests, yak pastures, and up to the traditional village of Kyanjin Gompa, surrounded by snowcapped peaks and glaciers. Trekkers can also hike up to Tserko Ri (5,000m) for stunning panoramic views.

Day 01 :
Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 02 :
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi
  • Altitude: 1,550 m / 5,085 ft
  • Duration: 7-8 hours drive
  • Distance: ~122 km
  • Overview: Embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, passing through picturesque hills, terraced fields, and small villages along the Trishuli River. Stop at Dhunche, the administrative hub of Rasuwa District, before arriving in Syabrubesi.

Day 03 :
Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel
  • Altitude: 2,380 m / 7,808 ft
  • Duration: 6 hours
  • Distance: 10 km
  • Overview: Begin trekking with a gradual ascent along the Langtang Khola, crossing suspension bridges and passing through oak and rhododendron forests. Spot wildlife like red pandas, monkeys, and birds. Arrive at Lama Hotel, a small settlement nestled in the forest.

Day 04 :
Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village

  • Overview: Trek through dense forests and along the river to Ghodatabela, where the valley opens up with views of Langtang Lirung (7,227 m). Continue through yak pastures and post-2015 earthquake rebuilt villages to reach Langtang Village, a former trade post.

Day 05 :
Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa
